Individual NARM Therapy

For Developmental & Attachment Trauma

A relational, depth-oriented approach to exploring the patterns that once helped you adapt — and how they may now shape your capacity for connection, choice, and aliveness.

Something may keep happening that you don’t quite know how to change.

Some people come to this work already understanding a great deal about themselves. Others simply know that certain reactions, feelings, or relationship patterns keep showing up in ways they don’t fully understand.

You may find yourself anxious, self-critical, guarded, overwhelmed, disconnected, or behaving differently in important relationships than you intended. Sometimes you know exactly where a pattern came from. Sometimes you don’t.

For some people, these patterns developed in the context of complex or developmental trauma, attachment wounds, or chronic stress — ways of adapting to experiences that may once have helped maintain safety, connection, or belonging.

Therapy can offer space to become curious about what is happening beneath the pattern — including what it may have helped you manage, protect, or preserve.

The question isn’t only why a pattern exists.

It’s what that pattern has been trying to do for you.

Why These Patterns Can Be Hard To Change

Developmental & Attachment Trauma

Early relationships, environments, and unmet needs can shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world.

Over time, ways of protecting connection, managing overwhelming experiences, or adapting to what wasn’t available can become deeply familiar — even when they no longer serve us in the same way.

The NARM Approach

NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) is a relational, somatic approach to working with complex and developmental trauma.

Rather than focusing primarily on what happened in the past, we stay curious about what is happening now — including how earlier adaptations continue to shape your relationship with yourself, with others, and with what you want.

Areas We Might Explore Together

Inner Experience

Anxiety, overwhelm, numbness, bodily reactions, emotions, and other internal experiences that may become difficult to understand or stay connected to.

Identity & Self-Relationship

Shame, self-criticism, uncertainty about what you want, and the ways you have learned to see or relate to yourself.

Connection & Choice

Boundaries, closeness, withdrawal, people-pleasing, conflict, and what happens to your sense of choice when relationships feel important.

This work may resonate if…

You keep finding yourself in patterns of anxiety, self-criticism, withdrawal, over-accommodation, or disconnection that are difficult to shift.

Relationships sometimes bring out reactions in you that feel stronger, more automatic, or less chosen than you would like.

You’re interested in becoming curious about what happens beneath these patterns rather than simply trying to suppress them.

You value a therapeutic process grounded in relationship, curiosity, presence, and depth.

This work may not be the best fit if…

You’re primarily looking for structured, skills-based treatment focused on immediate symptom relief.

I’m always happy to help you think through other options or referrals.
